Our Story

FARMSEED was born from a simple belief: the best food comes from the farm, made the way it has always been made.

We are a small, family-run farm based in Tamil Nadu, raising native Kangeyam cows and buffaloes on natural fodder, and growing native oilseeds the traditional way. Everything we make — from our Bilona ghee to our cold-pressed oils — is crafted by hand, in small batches, without shortcuts.

Why We Started

Like many Indian families, we grew up with the taste of real ghee — the kind made at home, slow-churned from curd, with a grainy texture and a deep, nutty aroma. Over time, that taste disappeared from most kitchens, replaced by factory-made ghee that looks the part but lacks the soul.

We started FARMSEED to bring that taste back. Not as a nostalgia project, but as a commitment to doing things right — for the animals, the land, and the people who eat what we make.

How We Make Our Products

Our ghee is made using the traditional Bilona (curd-churned) method — milk from our own cows and buffaloes, set into curd, hand-churned with a wooden bilona, and slow-cooked on a low flame. No machines. No additives. No preservatives.

Our cold-pressed oils are extracted from native groundnut, sesame, and coconut using a traditional wooden chekku (ghani) — a slow, low-heat press that preserves the oil's natural nutrients, flavour, and aroma. Unlike refined oils, ours are unbleached and undeodorised — exactly as nature intended.

Our Farm

Our farm is located in [your village/district], Tamil Nadu. We raise Kangeyam country cows — a native breed known for their rich A2 milk — alongside buffaloes, on open pasture and natural fodder. We believe healthy animals make better food, and we treat them accordingly.

Our Promise

Every product that leaves our farm carries our name and our word: pure, traditional, and made with care. No compromises on process, no shortcuts on quality.

Thank you for choosing FARMSEED. We hope every spoonful reminds you of what real food tastes like.
